The short version
This site is built to be quiet. There are no popups, no email capture, no live chat, and no advertising or retargeting cookies. Everything you do in the tools — the contravention code you look up, the council you select, the grounds you choose, and the appeal-letter text you draft — stays in your browser. None of it is sent to or stored on our servers. The letter builder never submits anything anywhere; you copy the text and send it yourself.
Data controller
The data controller for personal data processed via this site is Desymphony EOOD, a company registered in Sofia, Bulgaria. Contact: [email protected].
What we collect, and the lawful basis
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, which pages are visited. It is configured with IP anonymisation and with advertising signals denied by default. We do not collect names, contact details, vehicle registrations, PCN numbers, or anything you type into the tools. Where we process this limited analytics data we rely on your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), which you give or decline using the notice at the bottom of the page. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set.
Cookies
We store one small preference in your browser to remember your analytics choice. If you allow analytics, Google sets its own measurement cookies. There are no advertising cookies on this site. If advertising is introduced in the future, this notice will be updated before any ad is served, and ads would run non-personalised under the denied ad-consent posture.
Your rights under UK GDPR
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (the retained EU Regulation 2016/679 as it forms part of UK law) and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights. Each links to the legislation:
- Article 15 — Right of access — a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Article 16 — Right to rectification — correction of inaccurate data
- Article 17 — Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”)
- Article 18 — Right to restriction of processing
- Article 20 — Right to data portability
- Article 21 — Right to object to processing
- Article 22 — Rights in relation to automated decision-making and profiling
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. Because the tools store nothing identifying, in most cases we hold no personal data about you to act on beyond anonymised analytics.
Complaints
If you are in the UK and believe your data has been mishandled, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
International transfers
The data controller, Desymphony EOOD, is established in Bulgaria, an EU member state. Transfers of personal data from the UK to the EU are covered by the UK’s adequacy decision recognising the EU, so no additional safeguards are required for that transfer. Google Analytics may process data outside the UK and EU under its own standard contractual clauses.
